Shaq, what does it mean to give thanks?

Great question.

Giving thanks is an expression of gratitude. Imagine saying “thank you” but actually meaning it. That is what it means to give thanks.

Shaq, what if I have nothing to be thankful for?

Great question.

You always have something to be thankful for. Life can be tough but even in the blurst of times you can always be thankful for the Great Mother Gaia; creator and giver of birth to the Earth and all the Universe.

If you ever feel like there is nothing to be thankful for, schedule a hike where you reach the mountain’s peak at dawn’s first light. Something as beautiful as sunrise from atop the world coupled with thin mountain air making your brain gush endorphins uncontrollably will make it impossible not to be thankful that you got a first-class ticket on this crazy little spaceship I like to call Earth.

And if there are no mountains nearby for you to climb, you are sh*t out of luck.

What are some good things to be thankful for?

Great question.

Other than your first-class ticket on this crazy little spaceship I like to call Earth?

People often like to say family, but if your family sucks don’t feel obliged to. Anything that truly provokes a genuine “thank you” out of you rather than the ones you toss around like litter because it’s polite is a good thing to be thankful for.

Here are some suggestions to jog your memory:

So Shaq, what now?

Great question.
