Gashrat Drives a Stake Through The Heart of Summer with New Music Video “I Can’t”

The grand ol’ season of summer is officially over. While you may want to lament the season’s passing, Montreal supergroup band Gashrat‘s new video for “I Can’t” is here to remind you that summer isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

Directed by James Watts. 2015. 70mm.

Summer used to be about getting a sunburn from spending all day in the sand because you are too afraid to go swimming ’cause there might be shark. Nowadays, however, summer is a series of overpriced music festivals each more humiliating than the next.

I tell you what I can’t, Gashrat. I can’t watch this music festival themed music video without feeling EXHAUSTED. That said, I will watch this music video 100 more times because I got nothing else going on in my life now that it gets dark at 5-f*cking-pm. You should do the same.

For more Gashrat, please visit Gashrat’s Bandcamp.

We will miss all the parks, pools and paddleboarding with our best bros. But not music festivals. Music should only be listened to indoors at a medium-high decibel and it most definitely should not be celebrated with a different festival every weekend.

Big thanks to Gashrat and James Watts for alerting us to the evils of summer and summer music festivals.
